What Youโll DoAs a Communications Technician (911 Dispatcher), youโll be the critical link between the public and police, fire, and EMSโhelping ensure the right response is sent quickly and accurately. You will:
- Receive and document emergency and non-emergency calls, then relay clear, timely information to responders
- Dispatch and coordinate police, fire, and EMS resources using radio and 911 systems
- Monitor multiple radio channels and maintain accurate logs and records
Minimum requirements include:
- Age 18+; high school diploma/GED; English proficiency
- Type 35 wpm; Colorado driverโs license (or ability to obtain)
- Availability for rotating shifts, nights/overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to earn/maintain required certifications within one year (APCO, EMD, NIMS, Notary)
