Job description

The Ground Transportation Dispatcher at Chandler & Campbelle Investment Group (CCD) is responsible for overseeing daily ground transportation operations at Palm Beach International Airport. This position plays a critical role in coordinating the flow of Taxicabs, Commercial Vehicles, and Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) throughout holding lots, loading zones, GTAs, terminal roadways, curbs, and sidewalks. The dispatcher ensures that vehicles and passengers move safely and efficiently through designated areas while maintaining compliance with airport rules and CCD procedures.

In this role, the dispatcher monitors and directs the activities of various transportation providers and coordinates the safe queuing and dispatching of vehicles. Responsibilities include assisting passengers boarding taxicabs, monitoring curbside and sidewalk activity to maintain safety, and restricting access to authorized vehicles only. The dispatcher also verifies that vehicles have required decals and transponders, performs random checks of driver documents, and prohibits unauthorized parking or curbside dwelling.

The dispatcher is responsible for reporting and managing incidents involving vehicles, handling lost or unattended items, and conducting regular inspections of taxicab appearance and condition. Monitoring driver conduct, assisting with baggage carts and wheelchairs to reduce hazards, and utilizing the AVI System to support operational efficiency are also essential components of the role. Throughout these tasks, the dispatcher must deliver exceptional customer service, work collaboratively with County personnel, and perform additional duties as requested to support seamless ground transportation operations.

Candidates for this role must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associateโ€™s or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred. Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or airport operations is highly desirable. The position requires strong supervisory abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Proficiency with AVI systems and related technologies is also important.
