Job description

About Alchemy
Our mission is to bring blockchain to a billion people. The Alchemy Platform is a world class developer platform designed to make building on the blockchain easy. We've built leading infrastructure in the space, powering over $105 billion in transactions for tens of millions of users in 99% of countries worldwide.
The Alchemy team draws from decades of deep expertise in massively scalable infrastructure, AI, and blockchain from leadership roles at leading companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Stanford, and MIT.
Alchemy recently raised a Series C1 at a $10.2B valuation led by Lightspeed and Silver Lake. Previously, Alchemy raised from a16z, Coatue, Addition, Stanford University, Coinbase, the Chairman of Google, Charles Schwab, and the founders and executives of leading organizations.
Alchemy powers the top blockchain companies globally and has been featured in TechCrunch, Forbes, Bloomberg, JPMorgan, and elsewhere.
About the Role
A once-in-a-generation shift is underway. Global banks, fintechs, and TradFi leaders - JPMorgan, Visa, PayPal, and more - are moving beyond pilots to launch real products on crypto rails. At the same time, the most sophisticated Web3 teams are scaling faster than ever, building the infrastructure for an entirely new financial system. Alchemy sits at the center of both worlds - the trusted infrastructure powering billions of transactions for the builders shaping the future of finance.
We're looking for an Enterprise AE to lead our largest, most strategic partnerships at this critical inflection point. This is a chance to influence how the next decade of global finance gets built.
What You'll Do
You'll own and grow a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts - a mix of major financial institutions, top fintech innovators, and the most ambitious Web3 companies in the world. This is not a standard sales role. You will:
  • Navigate board-level relationships and collaborate daily with Alchemy's C-Suite and top-tier investors.
  • Orchestrate multi-year, multi-stakeholder deals spanning CTOs, innovation labs, product leads, and procurement at global scale.
  • Design and execute multi-threaded strategies using MEDDPICC to land and expand seven- and eight-figure partnerships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives defining their blockchain strategy
  • Bring market intelligence back to GTM leadership to directly influence Alchemy's roadmap and category leadership.

What we're looking for
  • 7-10+ years closing complex SaaS/infrastructure deals with $500K+ ACV.
  • Track record of breaking into net-new strategic accounts and expanding them into marquee wins.
  • Deep experience in financial services, fintech, or payments - paired with the curiosity and credibility to engage deeply with Web3 teams.
  • Proven success with C-level, technical, and operational buyers in consultative, value-driven cycles.
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-stakes, category-creating markets.

As Controller at Alchemy, you'll be responsible for building and leading our end-to-end accounting function.
Leading a growing team, you'll be responsible for our core accounting operations, strengthening the systems and controls that support the business, and transforming complex financial information into clear insights for company leadership, our Board of Directors, and investors. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong business judgment. You'll be equally comfortable setting the long-term direction of the function, partnering across the company, and rolling up your sleeves to solve challenging accounting and operational problems.
What You'll Do
  • Set the strategy and long-term direction for Alchemy's accounting function, systems, and team.
  • Assume full responsibility for routine financial operations, encompassing the general ledger, AP, AR, and reporting, while managing complex multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations for global operations, including our presence in Romania.
  • Own timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Ensure financial statements and accounting practices comply with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Architect and refine a scalable accounting infrastructure by managing and optimizing our core financial technology stack, including NetSuite, Orb, Zip, and Ramp.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and controls that promote financial accuracy, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strong risk management.
  • Oversee tax planning, compliance, and preparation in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Lead relationships with third-party accounting firms, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
  • Develop and present reporting that gives company leaders meaningful insight into financial and operational performance, and partner with Finance on Board and investor reporting.
  • Distill complex financial information into clear recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead technical accounting and strategic initiatives, including revenue recognition, vendor analysis, customer analysis, and other special projects.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across Alchemy, including Finance, Operations, Sales, People, Engineering, and Product.
  • Lead, develop, and scale the capabilities of a high-performing accounting team, fostering ownership, rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Head of Accounting, Accounting Director, or similar senior accounting role.
  • Public accounting experience paired with meaningful in-house operating experience at a high-growth technology company.
  • Strong ownership of accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, consolidations, financial reporting, and close processes.
  • Deep technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP and experience applying accounting guidance to complex business transactions.
  • Experience building scalable accounting systems, processes, policies, and internal controls with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
  • Audit-readiness experience or strong ability to prepare a company for future audits, including documentation, controls, reporting infrastructure, and close discipline.
  • Strong business judgment, with the ability to connect detailed accounting work to broader company strategy and decision-making.
  • Hands-on operating style, comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally and explain complex financial topics clearly to leadership, Board members, investors, and cross-functional partners.
  • People leadership experience, including leading, developing, and raising the bar for an accounting team.

Nice to Haves
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or later-stage private company, ideally Series C/D/E.
  • NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with billing, procurement, and expense management systems.
  • Experience with crypto, digital assets, blockchain, or web3 is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience managing external tax, technical accounting, M&A, audit, or advisory partners.
