The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking one (1) Software Development Specialist 1 (Salesforce) in the Information Technology Application Development Division. 

What You'll do as a Software Development Specialist 1:

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a motivated Software Developer to design, build, test, and support business applications while ensuring compliance with agency standards and security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify program modules using technologies such as Salesforce, C#.
  • Write and execute unit/system test cases; debug and revise programs to ensure desired results.
  • Assist in gathering requirements, documenting business process flows, and developing software solutions to business problems.
  • Provide postproduction support, including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to exchange technical information and lead focused discussions.
  • Support user acceptance testing, source control, and deployment activities.
  • Promote system security by adhering to agency and state IT policies.
  • Continuously learn new skills through training, seminars, and selfdirected study.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development tools, debugging, and version control.
  • Knowledge of databases and web development.
  • Strong problemsolving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
