Job description

Job Title: RN - 2S Renal

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Position Overview:
The RN will provide specialized nursing care for renal and medical/surgical patients within a 24-bed Renal Unit specializing in kidney disease and kidney transplant care. The role includes delivering culturally competent, age-specific patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Unit Highlights:
Specialized 24-bed Renal/Medical-Surgical unit
Focus on kidney disease and kidney transplant patients
Support for living donor, cadaveric, and paired exchange transplant processes
Peritoneal dialysis care including manual and cycler methods
Participation in pharmacologic research studies
On-site outpatient kidney transplant clinic
Remote telemetry monitoring available for 8 beds
Dynamic environment caring for both transplant and general med/surg patients

Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Provide age-specific and culturally competent nursing care and education
Monitor and report patient condition changes
Collaborate with nephrologists, transplant surgeons, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication
Participate in ongoing professional development and competency maintenance
Support patients through kidney transplant and renal treatment processes
Perform specialized renal nursing procedures including peritoneal dialysis

Requirements:
Diploma in Nursing required
BSN preferred
Active Ohio RN License or Compact License required
BLS Certification through American Heart Association required
Strong communication and teamwork skills required
Ability to work in a culturally diverse healthcare environment required
