Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry monitoring experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting at a teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within OSU facilities
  • Cardiac monitoring and telemetry, including on-unit and remote monitoring
  • Care includes IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Manages dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response, including Rapid Response/Code team utilization
  • Provides wound care, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
  • Manages IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test
  • Some prior experience monitoring telemetry patients required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN reference is acceptable for the second; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates with only 1 year of experience are subject to manager review before offer
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
  • RTO requests must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing their contract due to strict compliance timelines
