The Role You Will Play

As a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal, you will be an integral part of our legal team, providing critical support for day-to-day litigation tasks. Your role will encompass:

  • Drafting and managing correspondence between courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Managing multiple attorney calendars and preparing travel arrangements.
  • Preparing and filing all pleadings both electronically and traditionally in various courts across Ohio and other states and working with local counsel.
  • Prepare subpoenas and coordinate with courier service.
  • Preparing trial notebooks.
  • Preparing document production, including Bates-label documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of depositions (reserve conference room, court reporter, etc.).
  • Scanning client documents and uploading them into legal software.
  • Occasionally greeting clients and visitors at our office and handling incoming calls for the firm.

Background Profile

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, with a minimum of three years of experience in litigation support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal software, electronic filing systems, and MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff.
