Job description

HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS)/Controls Technicians 

Get your tools and work on something fun today.  We are seeking controls technicians with service experience in HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS)& Controls.

What you'll do

As a Controls Technician, your main job is to meet regularly with customers, identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems.  Also, important- keep customer informed on service provided, outstanding issues and recommend enhancements, upgrades or repairs.

Here is what the job involves

  • Run controls related service calls and PM task schedule for controls. Troubleshoot, repair and program control systems.  
  • Start up, testing, commissioning and servicing controls projects.
  • Train the customer on controls systems as directed
  • Modify existing programs and troubleshooting to maintain optimum system operation.
  • Verify correct system and control sequence operations.
  • Review, modify, and implement programming changes to building automation system to ensure efficient and effective system operations and conformance with standards and guidelines and energy savings.
  • Calibrate, repair, and replace building automation system sensing devices to specifications.

What you need 

  • At least 2-4 years experience with installation, service, or maintenance of controls systems, but if you finished a  technical program or have equivalent experience, let's talk.
  • A good knowledge base of all aspects of HVAC for controls sequence of operations, and electrical is helpful too.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Drug Free and able to pass Criminal Background Check

What knowledge, skills, abilities 

  • You should have proficiency in servicing various control systems.  Knowledge of Distech, or Honeywell is a plus   
  • Tridium AX, N4 and/or AX security certification is preferred.
  • You should have a general understanding of controls systems programming.
  • You'll be working with people too, so you'll need to be able to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and company personnel.
  • You need to be a continuous learner. Interest and initiative in maintaining your HVAC and DDC controls skills through a combination of self-study, corporate training, workshops, and other developmental activities.

  What you do you when working with a company on the move

  • It's hands on job.  You can expect the role to include a full range of physical activity including occasional sitting, lifting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing; constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping and repetitive motions.
  • You will climb ladders and perform job duties at higher elevations
  • There is occasional lifting.  You should be able to lift from floor level to overhead, lift up to 75 lbs. on occasion, frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
