Dental Assistant

Dental practice in Fairmount/Art Museum area of Philadelphia is looking for a responsible, reliable, and experienced dental assistant that can also learn front desk/reception duties.

We are looking for an assistant/front desk to work 3-4 days/week.

Our office hours are Monday to Wednesday 9am-6pm with a 1 hour lunch break and one Saturday a month from 9am-2pm with no lunch.

Job duties include:

• Chair-side assisting the general dentist utilizing accepted four-handed dental techniques for common restorative procedures

• Using accepted dental radiographic techniques to produce diagnostic radiographs

• Being familiar with dental terminology

• Performing basic dental laboratory procedures

• Performing accepted dental sterilization techniques

• Maintaining the inventory of supplies and equipment

• Assisting in preparing and maintaining dental records

• Assisting in teaching new employees assigned duties

• Covering front desk scheduling, calls when receptionist is away

• Learning insurance and billing, opportunity for higher compensation

• Other duties as assigned

Educational requirements:

• High school diploma

• Dental Assistant Certification preferred

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required

Experience:

• prefer some experience with general dental assisting, CDA not required

• We are expanding our practice to include oral surgery and sedation services. Some experience in surgery is preferred but we will invest training for motivated applicants.

License:

• X-ray certification required
