JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant/Office Manager to manage the accounting activities of our manufacturing operation. As the Accountant/office manager, you will direct the accounting operations at our North Chicago location. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team.

Job Responsibilities

The list of responsibilities is not inclusive and may be expanded to include other responsibilities which may be required as deemed necessary from upper management.

Maintain all day-to-day accounting activities such as A/R, A/P, G/L, Cost accounting and Inventory control.

Review and process payments to and from the company.

Oversee the purchasing / receiving workflows and the ability to train other team members with these tasks.

Manage payroll activities and train other payroll personnel.

Responsible for posting weekly and quarterly taxes.

Responsible for the month end and year end closings to produce financial statements.

Upload accounting information to company’s CPA firm for monthly audits.

Manage Inventory control, update part numbers, and perform cost adjustments.

Manage the creation of manufacturing jobs, audit jobs and close jobs.

Oversee HR as well as assist with the administration of Employee benefit plans including health insurance.

Responsible for 401k administration.

Manage Bank Accounts online including ACH Debits entries, Wire Payments, Payroll Payments, and Positive Pay

Perform regular Bank Reconciliations for several checking accounts.

Post and Reconcile credit card accounts.

Report to the CFO and owners.

Job Qualifications

10 years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. This role will be a combination of both accounting, and manufacturing activities such as inventory control and job costing.

Advanced proficiency with Epicor 10, Epicor Kinetic ERP software or similar ERP software used in the manufacturing environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Strong technical knowledge of GAAP principles, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of inventory control to manage cycle counts and year-end physical inventory audit.

Ability to communicate with shop supervisors to ensure accurate information when needed.

Well organized, ability to multitask and self-motivate.
