SUMMARY:

Guardian Agriculture is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Software Quality Engineer with leadership potential to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Software Quality Engineer, you will own our strategy and cross-functional execution to ensure the quality and reliability of our software product. This is a key position for an individual who is passionate about quality assurance, has a deep understanding of testing methodologies, and is interested in taking on leadership responsibilities.

What You'll do:

Quality Assurance Leadership:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive quality assurance strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Define and implement procedures and tools for various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, UX, physics simulation, and field validation testing.
Buildout Test Automation Tools:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks to improve efficiency and test coverage.
  • Drive the adoption of automation best practices within the QA team.
Test Definition, Execution, and Reporting:
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.
  • Execute and manage test cycles, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of test progress and results.
  • Work closely with development and product teams to identify, isolate, and track defects throughout the testing process.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the QA process.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in quality assurance and testing.
Collaboration:
  • Foster strong collaboration with development, product management, and operations teams to ensure a holistic approach to quality.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on both manual and automated testing.
  • Current hands on experience in Python is a must.
  • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience testing in robotics, embedded devices, and edge-compute environments
  • Experience with testing in Agile development environments.
  • Certification in quality assurance/testing (e.g., ISTQB).
