Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team!

Established CPA firm needs a professional, motivated, and experienced accountant to join an established CPA firm. Applicants should have 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting, preferably licensed. Should also have experience with annual financial audits. Knowledge of Thomson Reuters UltraTax is a plus. Must be punctual, well-spoken and positive, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.

Position requires direct interaction with clients, so good communication skills and an ability to effectively work with others will be a critical characteristic of the successful candidate.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA license or in process of obtaining preferable.
• A minimum of 2 years tax preparation experience at a public accounting firm.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and tax planning for individual, partnership, LLC and corporate clients.
• Familiarity and understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
• Prepare client’s annual, quarterly or monthly financial statements.
• Assist clients with payroll, W-2’s, etc.
• Prepare property tax returns and sales tax returns.
• Set clients up with bookkeeping skills and software.
• Field and answer client questions regarding tax returns, financial statements, etc.
• Responsible for the preparation of assigned financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and reports to shareholders.
• Expertise with Excel.
• Superior analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Great communication skills and confidence to express yourself clearly to cross-functional team members.
• Strong work ethic, team player and ability to manage multiple deadlines/tasks effectively.
• Great organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
