About the Role:

The role of Route Delivery Driver is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate loading, and unloading of trucks, verifying quantities, and maintaining high[1]quality standards. With a focus on material organization, inventory checks, and collaboration with cross[1]functional teams, the specialist plays a vital role in fulfilling orders accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of DOT and non-DOT vehicles, ensuring they meet all safety and operational standards.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on delivery vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition for safe and efficient operation.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks meticulously, verifying the accuracy of quantities and ensuring the safe transport of materials.
  • Ensure the quality of materials upon receipt and during delivery, promptly reporting any discrepancies or damages to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and store materials efficiently in the vehicle to ensure easy access and safe delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through regular checks and participate in monthly inventory counts to prevent discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the distribution team to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on schedule, prioritizing efficient route planning.
  • Demonstrate precision in loading trucks, securing materials to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklifts and potentially skid steers, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Coordinate effectively with logistics, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery processes and prompt resolution of any delivery issues.
  • Maintain clear and organized delivery schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery routes.
  • Drive company vehicles for deliveries and stock pickups with professionalism, adhering to all traffic laws and safety procedures.
  • Hold and maintain the appropriate licensing and credentials for delivery driving, including a clean driving record.
  • Follow strict safety regulations and procedures when operating delivery vehicles and handling materials.
  • Engage in regular physical activity, including heavy lifting over 40lbs, demonstrating the importance of safety gear like shoes.
  • Foster a safe and secure work environment, focusing on safety practices during deliveries.
  • Offer constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance the efficiency and safety of the delivery process.
  • Be willing to cross-train and provide support within the distribution center as needed, including roles like Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Develop a deep familiarity with the company's range of products and services to provide informative and helpful service to customers during deliveries.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • HSD, or equivalent education, is required.
  • Previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment, with a focus on material handling and
  • delivery routes
  • Must have drivers’ licenses as you will utilize company vehicles.
  • DOT Health certification will be a required aspect (can be obtained following hire)
  • Experience driving a forklift required.
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
