The Goddard School of Stony Brook, NY is seeking a UPK PreK Teacher to join our fun working environment to care for and teach our 4-year-old children. NYS Ratios are maintained in the classrooms. This is a full-time position working approximately 8 am until 3 pm Monday through Friday.
We are looking for a full-time UPK Teacher who will be responsible for leading our 4-year-old classroom; implementing The Pre-K curriculum for all Interdisciplinary Units of Study, with weekly lesson plans that meet the children's individual needs.

- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, which provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to children and parents.
- Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs.
- Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students
- Arrange indoor and outdoor space, to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or masters degree in early childhood education
- NY State Teaching Certificate Birth 2nd
- New Teachers welcome
- Experience in a 4-year-old classroom preferred.
