Broom Operator/Street Sweeper

Job Title: Broom Operator Class B CDL

Job Summary:

The Broom Operator is responsible for operating a street sweeper truck to maintain the cleanliness of streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. This position requires a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement and the ability to operate a street sweeper truck in a safe and efficient manner. The Broom Operator is also responsible for always ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a street sweeper truck to sweep streets, parking lots, and other designated areas.
• Drive the street sweeper truck to and from job sites, following all traffic laws and safety guidelines.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the street sweeper truck and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and using caution when operating the street sweeper truck in high-traffic areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the street sweeper truck, including checking and adding fluids, performing minor repairs, and reporting any major issues to the supervisor.
• Monitor the cleanliness of the work area and report any safety hazards or potential problems to the supervisor.
• Operate other equipment and perform other cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Previous experience operating a street sweeper truck is a plus.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• General knowledge of basic repairs and maintenance is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to report any issues to the supervisor.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed.
