Supply Chain Manager - Onsite

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Manager focusing initially on Inventory and Maintenance. This role will be responsible for managing inventory control functions, overseeing plant maintenance, participating in safety initiatives, and contributing to business development efforts for our cold storage division.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday - 8:00am - 6:00pm (nights, weekends and holidays as needed).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Control:

• Oversee daily cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels for both Derstine's Foodservice and EZ3PL.
• Manage obsolete inventory, approaching sell-by dates, and any exception bins, including samples and returns.
• Coordinate annual inventory audit every September for fiscal year-end reporting.
  
  Plant Maintenance Management:

• Oversee and manage all plant maintenance activities, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors for maintenance tasks, utilizing the SAP maintenance module for tracking and scheduling.
  
  Safety Committee Leadership:

• Actively participate in the safety committee and demonstrate a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
• Willingness to lead the safety committee and drive initiatives to improve safety practices.
• MHE certification trainings and oversight.
  
  Ammonia Safety Certification:

• Willingness to become certified in ammonia safety to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  
  SQF Initiative Leadership:

• Lead the Safe Quality Food (SQF) initiative to maintain and improve food safety standards across operations.
  
  EZ3PL Business Development/Sales:

• Drive business development efforts for EZ3PL cold storage division, focusing on filling the new cold storage facility. Focus on imported meat customers.
• Primary Cold Storage sales contact for new relationships as well as existing relationships.
• Pre-sell 90% of cold storage bins with signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) by fall 2024.
  
  Leadership and Operations:

• Be actively involved in the leadership and operations of both Derstine's Foodservice Distributor and EZ3PL Cold Storage activities.
• Create and develop business processes to streamline the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• SAP EWM power user. Learn to use the software and ensure the team is utilizing the product to its full extent.
• Collaborate with President on new facility development including planning for racks, material handling equipment, building layout, etc.
  
  SOP Development:

• Create, develop, document standard operating procedures for Derstine's and EZ3PL business processes.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to multitask with strict attention to detail.
• Proven experience in inventory management and plant maintenance within the food distribution or cold storage industry, 10 years.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and willingness to lead safety initiatives.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance module is preferred.
• Certification in ammonia safety is desirable.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, 10 years.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to drive business development initiatives and achieve targets.
• Eagerness to learn warehouse duties/responsibilities.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the Standard English language.
• Ability to work onsite, this position is not eligible for remote work.

Recommended Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with Typing and Data Entry
• High attention to detail.

Typical Work Environment Requirements:

• Cold, stressful, and nonstop
• Fast-paced warehouse setting
• Work in various temperatures down to -10°F (Dry, refrigerated, & Freezer)
• Standing, walking, sitting for up to 10-12 hours a day
• Lifting and moving material up to 100 pounds each
• Additionally, you may be required to lift, sit, stand, walk, twist, turn, stretch, push, pull, bend, or reach, both below waist and above the head, at any time to fulfill your job description.
