Technical Publications Lead

  • Location: Belcamp, MD (Hybrid Schedule)
  • Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required
  • Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 Depending on Experience and Education
  • Travel: 10%

Position Summary

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Technical Publications Lead to manage and ensure the development and publication of technical information products by the DoD information Analysis Center (IAC) domains which consist of the Cybersecurity and Information Systems Information Analysis Center (CSIAC), the Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC), and the Homeland Defense and Security Information Analysis Center (HDIAC). You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of products to meet publication deadlines, product requirements, governing SOPs and style guides, and quality standards by coordinating with an existing matrixed publications team consisting of DoD IAC technical domain leads, product authors, graphic designers, technical editors, and more.
  • Manage the development and on-time publication of the following products on an annual basis: (7) journal issues, (6) State-of-the-art Reports, (36) webinar presentations, and (21) technical inquiry response reports.
  • Act as a liaison between product authors and the existing publication team.
  • Support the development of the technical publications pipeline which involves engagement of DoD IAC team members and the DoD science & technology community to identify quality technical topics.
  • Lead sync-up meetings with the existing publication team to coordinate product development efforts.
  • Coordinate with Government customer to obtain approval for public release.
  • Follow existing standard operating procedures and processes to include project documentation, layouts, diagrams, process flowcharts, efficient/automated workflows, and file organization.
  • Continuously monitor product development processes and implement changes to improve efficiencies and/or product quality.

Minimum Qualifications of Technical Publications Lead
Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Technical Field of Study and 5+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

  • Proven work experience successfully managing the development and publication of a recurring product.
  • Ability to manage multiple on-going projects.
  • Strong communication and writing skill.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in small, dynamic teams and deliver products exceeding customer expectations.
  • Practical knowledge of U.S. Government or DoD publication requirements.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance required.
