Electronics Technician

Onsite in Austin, TX 78728

Fulltime 8-5pm CT, M-F

3 Month Assignment

Payrate: $30/hr

Our leading Information Technology & Services client, providing election technology, is hiring an Electronic Technician to focus on prototype support with the possibility to include production support for existing products.The successful candidate will support the design and development of new products through soldering, assembling, testing, debugging, process flow, component selection, design change and validation for electro-mechanical products.The position is responsible for dealing with issues in a professional manner.

Job Duties:

  • Ability to assemble prototypes including, but not limited to soldering fine pitch components, using hand and power tools to build mechanical assemblies, test and debug non-working units.
  • Ability to provide feedback on prototype assemblies to engineering staff in order to
  • identify opportunities for design improvement.
  • Able to effectively use standard electronic diagnostic instruments to analyze and troubleshoot PCBAs (i.e. oscilloscope, multimeter, etc)
  • Able to use basic hand and power tools with a mechanical aptitude to analyze and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings to identify root cause of non-functioning products.
  • Applies advanced knowledge and tools to problem-solve non-working units
  • Ability to produce cables from a released drawing or verbal instructions.
  • Manages and organizes information and documentation for design and revision tracking of prototype units.
  • Work closely with company Engineering and Supply Chain. Gather data as needed.
  • Able to take direction on testing and reworking electromechanical products.
  • Ability to organize the prototype build area including maintenance of component inventories.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Must possess the ability to
  • communicate effectively with suppliers and employees.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

Education and Experience:


Minimum High School Diploma or GED, plus minimum 3 years equipment troubleshooting in a technical

environment required. A working knowledge of computer and internet operations is also required. Technician certification/degree or engineering degree preferred. County election management and/or county records management

is a plus.
