Summary

The Central Purchasing Agent - Systems Integration Services role will work in a collaborative team environment alongside sales, engineers, project managers, technical staff, and senior leadership through the completion of the projects. You will assist project success and management by acquiring resources and coordinating the team's efforts to deliver projects according to plan. This role manages the procurement of project-specific and stock materials, focusing on reducing waste and redundancies in our highest-cost business operations. This role combines expertise in purchasing with strategic coordination of branch resources and technology to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. The agent works with stakeholders to manage inventory, optimize stock levels, and ensure timely delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 5 - 10 years in an operational staff position required 
  • Must have extensive security integration product and application knowledge.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of standard systems integration products and services.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively, from procurement to inventory control and system integration supply.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in ConnectWise, a plus

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Oversee the procurement and integration process for system services, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Manage purchasing of systems and expense items, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor vendor performance, including manufacturing and supplier lead times, to identify and mitigate potential conflicts.
  • Coordinate resource scheduling and manage project documentation and inventory for ongoing operations.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders using the ERP system and online platforms, ensuring accurate cost and delivery schedule tracking.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and sales/project management input to streamline processes.
  • Work with Branch Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure strategic vendor support and alignment for all purchased system services.
  • Seek alternative sourcing opportunities for cost savings, improved lead times, and quality enhancements.
  • Assist in reconciling vendor invoices and managing defective equipment returns.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and customers regarding installation scheduling and project updates.
  • Participate in team project status reviews and contribute to project planning and closure documentation.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from manufacturers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
