Children's Outpatient Licensed Therapist

WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.

Our Children's Outpatient Licensed Therapist will work offsite with our younger patients, their families, and their therapeutic team to support the clients' growth. This position is a day shift role working full time Monday through Friday.

What We're Looking For:

• Master’s Degree in social services with practicum required
• License (LPC, LICSW, LMFT) 
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Prefer at least one year working with seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) children
• Computer Literacy

What You'll Be Doing:

• Conduct individual, group, and/or family therapy to child, adolescent population ages three to eighteen
• Perform initial assessments, and intakes and prepare documentation of such for client Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Prepare with the client a treatment plan to include goals
• Obtain certification in the CANS System
• Conduct CANS Assessments
• Document the progress of  the client toward goals as outlined in the Treatment plan
• Present cases to psychiatrists regarding client’s medicine
• Work closely with Case Manager & guardians regarding client’s needs
• Provide Crisis Intervention as needed
• Participate in various meetings to including departmental, divisional, or other meetings as required by the Director, Chief Clinical Officer ,or Chief Executive Officer.
• Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients
• Maintain educational requirements regarding licensure, Department of Mental Health State Standards
• May perform outreach in the school system
