Ophthalmology practice in West Caldwell, NJ. Seeking an individual for immediate hire. Must have worked in optical industry or as a medical receptionist with one year experience.

Ideal candidate must be dependable, responsible, eager to be part of a team, good at listening and following directions, able to multitask and handle a fast-paced setting, and trustworthiness, excellent people skills, and consistent, reliable attendance is a must.

Punctuality and good attendance is NON-NEGOTIABLE for this position.

Major duties will include: (we will train the right candidate)

• Perform patient workup by preparing patients for each exam and/or testing
• Understanding of the practice workflow and patient care
• Work directly with the physician and assist
• Able to communicate effectively with patients and physician
• Accurately documenting histories of patients into EMR
• Visual acuity measurement/Refractometry/Tonometry
• Visual field testing and OCT Measurements
• Corneal thickness measurement
• Assist with contact lens fitting and patient instruction
• Communicating with pharmacy and patients regarding medications
• Compliant with Medicare and other insurance documentation
• Prepare for and assist with office procedures.
• Front desk duties on some days to include answering the phone, booking appointments, collecting copays, filing forms and charts.

Hours Needed: (NON-NEGOTIONABLE)

• Monday: 9am - 6pm
• Tuesday: 9am - 5 pm
• Wednesday: 9am - 5pm
• Thursday: 9am - 5pm
• Friday: 9am - 3pm

Job Type: FULL TIME

Salary: $21.00/hour (based on experience)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Ophthalmic Technician Experience: (Preferred)
• Customer Service: 1 year (Mandatory)
• Computer Skills: 1 year (Mandatory)
• Receptionist Skills: 1 Year (Preferred, but not Mandatory)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour (based on experience)

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
