Position Summary

Directly supports people we support to identify, locate and make accessible opportunities to achieve their personal outcomes in the areas of identity, autonomy, attainment of services and goals, safety, rights, and health and wellness. The floater works in multiple homes, as assigned by the ABA Program Supervisor, to provide shift coverage as needed for PTO requests, open shifts, and emergency shift coverage. In the absence of a Program Supervisor, the floater will report to the ABA Quality Assurance Specialist. Work schedules will be communicated through Paylocity.

  • Completes Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) course sequence within two (2) months of being assigned and passes RBT exam within one (1) month of completing course sequence.
  • Adheres to the RBT Ethics Code in place by the BACB.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all shift offers from their assigned ABA Program Supervisor, or designee. Follow employee schedules as assigned and in accordance with staffing patterns and budgets (i.e. overtime, accuracy, and completeness)
  • Provide temporary program coverage, as necessary, to ensure the safety of the people we support (weekend call-offs, emergency supervision needs, etc.
  • Provide support to people we support in accordance with their Individualized Support Plans [ISPs], Behavior Support Plans [BSPs], staffing patterns, and budgets.
  • Complete timely, accurate, detailed, and relevant log notes for each shift worked, for each person we support receiving services, that address each individual’s personal outcomes.
  • Provide assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, eating, behavioral support activities, and other activities of daily living as needed by each person we support or as outlined in their ISP.
  • Assist with cleaning the homes of people we support as scheduled, and/or as necessary to ensure the home is well-kept.
  • Plan regular outings for each person we support as appropriate for their needs, obtain approval for these outings as appropriate, and document all outings as required.
  • Prepare meals for or with the person we support as necessary for their level of need. Monitor, document, and adhere to the nutritional/dietary needs of each person we support.
  • Administer all medications and medical treatments in a timely and accurate manner, and document accordingly.
  • Communicate with the assigned supervisor and/or agency nurse immediately when any unusual medical or behavioral incidents occur during the care of the person we support.
  • Adhere to all applicable paperwork deadlines, including monthly mileage forms, ensuring that all assigned paperwork is completed accurately and completely.
  • Ensure that all people we support are free from abuse and neglect in the home and when out in the community and immediately report the suspicion of abuse and neglect to the assigned supervisor
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and professional trainings as assigned by supervisor.



Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Behavioral Technician Certificate or able to obtain within three (3) months of hire.

Required Skills/Abilities & Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced (at times stressful) environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance (use of personal vehicle required at times)
  • Acceptable background checks

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand, walk, and sit four (4) hours at a time.
  • Repetitive bending and reaching up to two (2) hours a day.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds from floor to waist.
