We are looking for a flat bed truck driver for our Phoenix plant. This position works with the Shipping department and delivers different products to customers. This is primarily driving company trucks and helping load and unload materials to and from the truck.

**This is a local truck driving position; allowing you to be home daily with your family

Duties and responsibilities:

• Deliver product in a timely manner
• Drive safely and avoid accidents and tickets
• Interface with customers in a courteous manner
• Keep accurate records and logs
• Conduct daily pre-trip truck inspections
• Maintain good communication with Production Manager
• Assist in loading and unloading of material

Requirements:

• License/Certificate – DOT Commercial Driver’s License required

• Minimum three (3) years commercial driving experience
• No accidents or moving violations with the past five (5) years
• Experience with Department of Transportation driving a tractor/trailer
• Prior experience in using a forklift
• Able to read maps and maintain a good sense of direction
• Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions
• Must be courteous and considerate of customers
• Able to communicate effectively through verbal, oral, and written means
• Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations

Equipment used: This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: truck safety equipment, forklift, tie down straps, tie down bars, truck, radio, and phone.

Working conditions:

This position spends majority of the time outside (90%) and working inside (10%) in a manufacturing environment for the remainder of the time. There are some variables in the atmosphere that this is exposed to – fumes, gas, and road conditions. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Typically shifts are Monday through Friday, and often including overtime. Saturdays may be required during high sales volumes.

Physical requirements:

For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds. There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. There is also repetitive use of feet required for operating the stick shift in the company trucks. In addition, this position requires the abilities listed with percentages:

Sitting and Driving– Frequent (up to 75%)Reaching above shoulders– Regularly (up to 50%)Standing, Walking, Lifting, Bending, Kneeling, and Climbing – Regularly (up to 50%)
