Lawn Care Lead

RIVER VALLEY LAWNSCAPE of Red Wing is now hiring a property maintenance LEAD (Lawn Care & Winter Snow Removal)  to work in our Lawnscape department.  This is full time year round position & fully benefited.   

Summary:

KEY ROLE IS LEADING A TEAM OF (2) MEMBERS ON COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY LAWN MAINTENANCE & SNOW REMOVAL FOR OUR VALUED 30+ YEAR CUSTOMER BASE.  RIVER VALLEY IS THE LONGEST ESTABLISHED AND LARGEST VOLUME PROVIDER OF PROFESSIONAL LAWN CARE IN THE RED WING & LAKE CITY AREA.  

THIS ROLE IS A LEAD ROLE, CAN BE CUSTOMER FACING & INTERACTING, WITH SEASONAL DIVERSE DUTIES:  SPRING GETTING PROPERTIES READY FOR SPRING,  SUMMER WEEKLY MOWING, TRIMMING, PRUNING SHRUBBERY, FALL LEAF CLEANUPS & WINTER SNOW REMOVAL.  IDEAL CANDIDATE ENJOYS THE INDEPENDENCE OF WORKING OUTDOORS AS A TWO MAN TEAM AS WELL AS WORKING A FLEXIBLE M-F SCHEDULE THAT AS LONG AS THE WORK GETS DONE CAN BE FLEXIBLE.   TARGET 40HRS PER WEEK YEAR ROUND. 

RIVER VALLEY USES AN UDPATED FLEET of $1M+ OF  TRUCKS & TRAILERS, THE LATEST IN ZERO TURN RIDING MOWING EQUIPMENT, AND A FLEET OF SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT.  IDEAL CANDIDATE IS VERY MECHANICAL & ENJOYS OPERATING EQUIPMENT.   

Qualifications:

Skill and Experience: 

• Minimum one year of experience in lawn scaping is required, where the knowledge of using equipment has been gained.
  
• Proper operation and maintenance of grounds tools, equipment and machinery.
• Can work independently and as part of a team environment.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Self-starter who can manage time effectively.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires full range of motion in order to operate equipment
• Ability to work in all-weather elements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs regular lawn-scape maintenance by mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, sidewalks, shrubs, etc.
• Performs tasks common to care of lawns by seeding, fertilizing, and mowing.
• Assists with snow removal and installing winter equipment to assist in spreading sand and salt.
• Safely operates light vehicles and portable power tools and equipment such as trimmers, sprayers and snow/leaf blowers.
• Load and unload lawn care tools into/from work trucks
• Drive work trucks to/from job sites

Compensation:

Summer work: $20 - $25 per hour/wage is dependent on experience level.

Winter work: $30 per hour

Schedule:

Summer Schedule is: M-F 7AM to 4PM or  (4)  10 hour days (Monday-Thursdays) weather permitting. 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Hours may vary based on business needs. 

Winter Schedule is: On-Call; weather dependent
