Medical Assistant - Podiatry with Wound Care Experience Needed

Medical Assistants with Wound Care experience needed for a Medical Facility in Beverly Hills, California.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.

$25.00 per hour; Contract to hire.

Job Duties:

• Greet Patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record.
• Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data.
• Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice.
• Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs.
• Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines.
• Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider.
• Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as provided by director.

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Assistance Certificate/Diploma from a DAIPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
• Experience with wound care and casting.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by preforming preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries.
• 1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.
• Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ Years working as a MA in pediatrics.
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic.
• Experience with Quest Diagnostic Laboratory Submissions.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans.
• Experience with Autoclave sterilization.
