Salary: Base Annual Salary: $125k - $150k per year DOE

This pivotal new role will spearhead Research and Content Analytics for Cineverse, driving a data-centric approach to strategy across departments by establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across platforms and programming. The primary objective is to cultivate a data-driven culture within teams. This position will be tasked with delivering insightful and actionable analysis to steer business decisions across content selections, programming, partnerships, marketing, sales, and finance. This position demands a keen understanding of the evolving entertainment landscape, with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends, particularly within the rapidly evolving FAST space. Key responsibilities encompass in-depth analysis, data mining, comparable analysis and strategic recommendations leveraging audience, platform, and competitive data. Strong data storytelling skills and visualizations are a must.

 

Essential Functions

  • Define the goals, priorities, and principles related to data management, data usage and data-driven decision making for the organization.
  • Develop, generate, present, and disseminate research reports, dashboards, and visualizations that monitor the performance of the complete suite of Cineverse channels/brands across FAST, AVOD, and SVOD platforms/partners. This includes, but is not limited to, tracking metrics such as minutes watched, time spent viewing, usage, revenue, reach, churn, and engagement at the channel, program and genre levels, with year-over-year (YOY) and month-over-month (MoM) comparisons.
  • Collaborate closely with Cineverse’s Matchpoint Insights’ Analysts Team to optimize and build dynamic visualizations.
  • Foster data-driven culture through data analytics upskilling across departments.
  • Establish benchmarking metrics for evaluating content/genre performance and contribute to the content license decisions. 
  • Formulate program-level performance projections to facilitate ROI assessment during greenlighting.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to advise the programming and acquisitions team on initiatives such as stunts, refresh rates, renewals and genre needs.
  • Conduct relevant competitive analysis of the entertainment marketplace.
  • Offer analysis on the underlying reasons behind trends observed in both internal and industry data.
  • Ability to parse partial and/or delayed datasets delivered via multiple sources.
  • Develop and contribute to special projects as needed.

 

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mathematics, statistics, computer science, marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in research/content analytics within a media company, with linear experience being advantageous.
  • Profound comprehension of content and content consumption patterns.
  • Expertise in advanced data analysis techniques including statistical analysis techniques, viewer segmentation, audience duplication, and audience tracking.
  • Proven track record of synthesizing disparate quantitative and qualitative datasets into concise recommendations.
  • Familiarity with a wide array of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies as well as experience with data visualization tools and software.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to distill complex data into meaningful insights and provide recommendations that drive informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
