To be successful for this Truck Mechanic role you are needing certain skills and qualifications, including:

Mechanic Responsibilities

• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles and some boat using laptop.
• DOT Inspections
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and Air braking and clutch systems.
• Overhaul Cummins, Detroit, International, Mack, Mercedes, Caterpillar
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Requirements may look like

• ASE Diesel/Auto Certification advantageous.
• Valid driver license CDL.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Good IT and diagnostic skills.
• Using hand tools
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Verbal communication skills.

Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to
  write simple correspondence.

• Effectively present information in a one-on-one situation or group.
  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measures, using whole numbers, common
  fractions and decimals.

• Mechanical Knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Marine Diesel Technicians ultimately responsible for maintain, diagnose, and repairing diesel engines and other systems in water vessels troubleshooting problems as needed. They work at marines or large shipping firms.
