(PRN) Endoscopy Technician

Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking to hire a PRN Endoscopy Technician for our facility in Houston, TX! This position will be responsible for working alongside of the physician during endoscopic procedures and assisting in room turnover.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Organizes the workflow, problem solves and manages multiple ongoing priorities
• Identifies and follows manufactures instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect instrumentation, flexible scopes, and equipment
• Adheres to the proper handling of garbage, linen, and biohazardous materials
• Facilitates room turnovers
• Follows manufacturers recommendations for sterilization methods
• Properly handles sterile product and ensures stock is places in the proper location
• Consistently makes rounds through the operating rooms and confirms instrumentation needs are met
• Troubleshoots problems and repairs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of sterile technique related to operating room preparation and procedures
• Demonstrates proficiency in medical and surgical technology
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of operating equipment and supplies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician preferred
• One or more years recent clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician preferred
• Current BLS
• Must complete additional educational requirements as assigned by due dates
