Role: Sr.Director, Film and Documentary Studio FP&A
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $200K-$218K annual base salary + 15% discretionary target bonus

We invite an experienced and strategic Director, Film and Documentary Studio FP&A to join our team. This pivotal role is an exciting opportunity to showcase your talents and make a tangible impact on the financial management and strategic direction of our Film and Documentary Studio FP&A team. You will be instrumental in shaping financial strategies, optimizing operations, and driving fiscal responsibility within one of the most dynamic sectors of the entertainment industry.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in financial management and strategy, exceptional proficiency in financial modeling and Film and Documentary Ultimates, and a thorough understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow intricacies specific to Film and Documentary financing, production and distribution. The ability to self-motivate, effectively multitask, and rapidly adapt is crucial in our dynamic and fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance and support key decision-making initiatives.
Role Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting
  • Managing all Film and Documentary ultimate models from development to delivery.
  • Partnering closely with Accounting for accurate recording of financial data.
  • Analyzing complex deal financing structures and providing support for key decision-making.
  • Collaborating with the FP&A leadership for accurate forecasts.
  • Assisting in audits and compliance efforts for the division.

Cashflow and Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Managing Film and Documentary cashflow and coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Collaborating with business leaders and external partners to communicate financial expectations and support decision-making.
  • Modeling repayments and borrowings for projects.

Process Improvement and Business Planning
  • Evaluating and implementing systems solutions to streamline finance processes.
  • Helping shape the division's business plan and establish goals and policies.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial management within the film or television industry, with a strong focus on Film and Documentary Ultimates.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and advanced Excel skills, along with experience in managing ultimate models, revenue recognition, and film cost amortization.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and improve processes, manage production finance teams, and oversee production funding processes.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, including collaborating with various departments and partner production companies, and assisting in the preparation of financial plans and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strategic, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach.
