ABOUT US

321 is a full service marketing agency built on—and fueled by—the uniquely collective strength of our people. We know what it’s like to grind, to create, to dream—we’ve been there before. Our team is built by badass individuals who are all so much more than a job title; leaders who skipped the beaten path and carved their own way. Talent comes from all walks of life and inspiration isn’t born in uniformity.

And we’re always searching for talent ready to focus on what matters and create the best work of our lives. You in?

ABOUT THE ROLE

A UI/UX Designer at 321 will conceptualize, design, and execute creative solutions that consistently invite the user to move through stages of conversion. These designers consistently put user experience first and effectively communicate our client's brand identity, positioning, and messaging. Designers in this position can clearly communicate the “why” behind their interactive designs and the importance of merging beautiful aesthetics with functional, accessible design solutions. They will work closely with the Brand designers, Content Team, Art Director and Creative Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • UI Design Strategy and Execution
    • Work within a collaborative team to ideate, conceptualize, design, and produce an array of digital executions according to identified goals and pain points. Solutions include websites, product, and app experiences.
    • Build on a creative brief and direction from the Creative Director in a manner consistent with brand guidelines. Develop a spectrum of directions for each project.
    • Develop strategic rationale around each decision. Apply the latest in UX/UI best practices from the concept to execution phases of a project. Follow trends, yet never lose sight of the historical design shoulders we’re standing on.
    • Expand brand assets and color palettes strategically, based on medium.
    • Hold the Creative team’s bar regarding pixel-perfect output in Figma.
    • Build component-driven UI systems for large scale websites.
    • Understand and apply competitor, positioning, and user research from the Content Team.
    • Create both lo- and hi-fidelity prototypes, incorporating motion as needed.
    • Design intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, interactive elements and interfaces that are consistent and coherent.
    • Possess an eye for detail and a variety of design styles, along with the ability to build out and combine aesthetic styles into moodboards and into the final pixels.

  • UX Design Strategy and Execution
    • Identify and solve user problems by mapping out the bare bones of a user journey.
    • Support the pre-design phase by conducting thorough research including competitor and customer analysis, and applying this research to an overarching strategy communicated clearly to our internal team.
    • Develop personas, usage scenarios, storyboards, sitemaps, prototyping, and screen flows as necessary to analyze and support the user story.
    • Create initial concepts, mid to hi-fidelity wireframes, functional design solutions, and UX/UI inspiration and techniques.
    • Design intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, interactive elements and interfaces that are consistent and coherent.
    • Possess an eye for detail and a variety of design styles.

  • Present & Support Work
    • Present campaign collateral  in a meaningful way that builds a relationship and confidence with our client partners.
    • Clearly articulate the “why” behind designs and defend design choices to the benefit of the client’s goals.

  • Stay Current & Reliable
    • Be a self-starter and quick learner, with the ability to deliver work on time and within scope.
    • Follow and practice the latest design trends, technologies and social media platforms.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the Figma and prototyping tools, Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects & InDesign and any new or emerging technologies

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 4+ years designing for brands in an agency setting
  • A book that represents eye-catching & award-winning designs with a focus on User Interface and User Experience.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Proven skill at handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to focus on the details, but also see how projects fit into larger company goals.
  • A well developed ability to give constructive design critique and positively guide creative growth in others.
  • Ability to work well in an agile, fast moving team environment.
  • Agency experience is preferred.
