Optical Technician

POSITION PURPOSE:

To assist physicians and patient in the ordering, delivery, evaluation and serve of optical products.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Measure, fit, adjusts and repair eyewear, including determining proper frame fit, considering patient’s needs.
• Prepare work orders for the laboratory and verify finished product.
• Knowledge of changing trends, technology and insurance billing.
• Proper purchasing for supplies.

• Basic computer and math skills
• Knowledge of a typical medical practice
• Communicating with co-workers, doctors and patients
• Ability to stay calm in emergency situations.

Typical office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
