Massage Therapist - Part Time

Position Summary:
Meadowood Massage Therapists are skillful body workers who also advocate healthy lifestyles promoting total wellbeing. Massage Therapists work to reduce the physical and mental effects of stress and tension in a nurturing, relaxed and safe environment while utilizing exemplary knowledge and expertise to provide a professional, purposeful and skilled treatment. The Massage Therapist supports fellow staff members by working collaboratively and professionally. Providers will also be responsible for offering suggestions for whole body wellness, homecare and future services. Massage Therapists agree to conduct their practices in an acceptable, ethical, and professional manner. They must be well spoken and gracious while working in a luxury setting.

Major Responsibilities & Work Activities:

Average % of Time
35%: Provide spa services to guests in a timely, courteous and proficient manner. Therapist will escort guests to and from various areas of the spa and attend to any immediate needs throughout the Spa visit. Assist in providing information to any inquiries, helps to coordinate all guest requests for services and maintain impeccable cleanliness of the Spa.

35%: Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout the treatment. Maintain professional ethics while ensuring personalized service is provided to each guest so they feel their needs are met.

10 %: Maintain work area with necessary supplies. Insure room is immaculate at all times (tables draped, counters and products clean and stocked) as well as cleanliness of all other spa areas including locker rooms. Therapists may also assist with product inventory for professional product.

10%: Assist fellow associates with daily operations to support healthy teamwork and contribute to the success of the spa.

10%: All spa employees should be impeccably groomed at all times following grooming standards.

Operations & Team Support

• Maintains order and cleanliness of supply rooms, dispensary and linen rooms
• Attends on-going training and CEU classes.
• Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
• Adheres to resort policies and procedures.
• Assists other therapists in treatment set-up and break-down
• Demonstrates respect and support of Spa Desk staff
• Completes all personal administrative work to support treatments, stand-by time and gratuities

Personal Characteristics Required:

• Able to relate to and interact with highly accomplished individuals such as celebrities, business leaders and social leaders
• Acts professionally and ethically under all circumstances
• Is attentive and compassionate toward every guest, whether the first or last of the day
• Demonstrates patience and understanding with guests and co-workers
• Must be team oriented
• Able to anticipate the needs and expectations of guests and other staff members
• Punctual
• Consistent with follow through with requests

Experience Required:

• Minimum two years of luxury spa experience working as a massage therapist desired

Education, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• California Massage Therapy Council’s (CAMTC) certification
• 800 hours of education preferred including a variety of modalities, anatomy, physiology and ethics
• If a Therapist is performing specialty modalities (i.e. Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral or Thai Massage) the Therapist must possess the appropriate certifications.

• Exceptional skill in articulating and communicating professionally with people of all social and economic levels
• Ability to actively listen to guest needs and requests
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment with flexibility and respect
