Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist in providing patient care and treatment during orthodontic procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phones and filing
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with dental software systems, such as Dentrix, for scheduling and record keeping
- Proficiency in medical documentation and maintaining accurate medical records
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Ability to assist with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for orthodontic appliances is a plus
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
