OVERVIEW

The Busser ensures an immaculate-looking and efficient dining area by cleaning and setting tables, and removing soiled dishes, glasses, and silverware. He or she maintains clean walkways, common areas, restrooms, and wait stations. The Busser provides any necessary support to Guests, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure prompt and friendly service. The Busser expedites food and beverage service, along with other small tasks, to ensure a high-quality Guest experience. Candidate must multi-tasks, takes direction, and adapts to changing needs of the restaurant.

SCHEDULE

This is a Part-Time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hours may be different every week and schedules are not set nor guaranteed.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSSER

  • Follow all company safety guidelines to the highest level. Face masks and gloves to be always worn while working at any Pacific Catch, Inc. restaurant(s).

  • Wash hands before and throughout shift, and always between running orders.
  • Inform Supervisors of any immediate symptoms if you are feeling ill.
  • Engage in personable, prompt, and polite interactions with Guests. Respond to questions, know where to find information if unknown to you.
  • Prepare table for Guests; ensure accurate place settings for the number of Guests, fill water glasses, and bring baskets of bread or condiments as requested.
  • Clear and clean tables; when removing plates while Guests are still seated, only do so after asking and whenever possible, remove plates from the right side. Exercise "full hands in, and full hands out" in the dish pit area. After Guests have vacated table, clear all plates, glasses, and silverware. Wipe away crumbs from table and chairs, or booths, and wipe the table clean.
  • Set and re-set tables with complete place settings (silverware, glasses, dishes, and napkins), and as needed, condiments. Exercise care with all restaurant equipment, dishes, silverware, and glasses to ensure minimum breakage.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining areas and common areas (tables, counters, equipment, restroom, and floors) at all times. For example, pick up garbage from the floor and wipe-up water or other liquids immediately.
  • During any down time, proactively assist other team members or as requested by manager. Make sure to-go roll ups are stocked (napkin, fork, chopsticks, and knife rolled-up).
  • Notify management of any comments, suggestions, or complaints from any Guests.
  • Read all notices and memos directed to FOH/serving staff or general staff.
  • At beginning of shift and end of shift complete side work. At end of shift, always "Close to Open" by ensuring that everything in the bar is stocked, prepared, clean, and orderly for the next shift.
  • Checkout with the closing server and manager on duty.
  • Maintain excellent personal grooming and hygiene (i.e., clean and neat hair, facial hair, fingernails), and wear appropriate professional attire, and slip-resistant shoes.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Read all notices for FOH team members and attend all team member meetings.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET

  • High school education
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds in weight
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's trading area
