Medical Records Specialist Requirements:
- Proven experience in medical records management within a healthcare or mental health setting.
- Knowledge of medical record systems, HIPAA regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Medical Records Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform processes for medical records requests, retrospective review requests, and chart appeals.
- Review medical records for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure timely processing of requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medical records activities in electronic and paper-based systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Billing, Claims, and Quality Assurance, to address medical record-related issues.
- Assist in compiling data for audits, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry best practices.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $18-22/hour
Schedule: Full time, M-F
