Job Description
Reputable Chicago-based firm is hiring a Stormwater Project Engineer for their team in Indianapolis!
Responsibilities:
- Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways (bridge and culvert crossings)
- Analyze flood problem areas to identify problems, look for solutions, and create a design with recommended alternatives
- Stormwater system analysis and design for municipal/roadway projects (conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best management practices)
- Design of soil erosion/sediment control practices
- Serve as the technical lead on projects
- Perform a variety of design tasks (calculations/models, report/plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks)
- Work on multi-discipline projects with other disciplines
- Review engineering work completed by others
- Build/maintain client and vendor relationships
- Mentor/train junior staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 7+ years of water resources experience
- Experience with municipal and/or highway drainage design projects
- PE License for Illinois and/or Indiana
- Proficient in Microstation
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (including HEC-RAS and SWMM)
- Experience in AutoCad preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience.
