Overview
Based in Edgewater, Florida, this team member will provide direct support to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and drive operational changes intended to increase quality and improve productivity while achieving on-time delivery. This role will require a high energy, self-motivated individual to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and relationships. This individual will analyze existing systems to develop one inclusive system to provide operational updates in real time.
Essential Functions
- Lead the evaluation of current information systems specifically related to all manufacturing, operations, and warehousing functions
- Develop a roadmap to lead operations stakeholders through the implementation of information systems to replace current manual processes
- Coordinate with partners in operations to identify, select and integrate information systems that will reduce manual effort, increase productivity, improve information accuracy and streamline communications
- Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies.
- Test software development methodology in an agile environment.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Analyze and interpret data to derive meaningful insights and inform decision-making processes.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintaining the security and privacy of data and systems.
- Evaluate computer systems and software to ensure functionality, reliability, and security.
- Utilize Lean methodologies to assist in the elimination of waste, the creation of additional visual management and the establishment of smooth flow to support the objectives of the operations team.
- Identify ways to deploy manufacturing related technology across the operations with the intent of improving accuracy, speeding up communication and saving time.
- Utilize time studies or time motion systems to aid operational improvements.
- Develop new hardware or computing techniques and materials.
- Design and implement algorithms and data structures to solve complex computational problems
- Create predictive models and identify operational requirements.
- Analyze individual systems and develop automated solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners to achieve elegant solutions.
- Support other operations related projects and tasks, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems and/or industrial engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience in the marine industry preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Strong project management and performance measurement skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, or artificial intelligence techniques and tools.
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
- Self-motivated individual who can be assigned a task and accomplish it at the highest level without needing frequent follow up.
- Works well independently with excellent organization, presentation, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively and professionally with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with database management systems and SQL for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Knows common programming language and framework.
- Experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies.
