Location: West Sacramento, California

Salary: $21.53-$27.99/hr. DOE

Medical benefits-eligible first of the month following 28 days of employment. All other benefits-eligible first of the month following 90 days of employment.

Position Overview: The Parts Clerk assists with the day-to-day operations of the Sacramento Parts procurement department.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Amount of Travel Involved: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
  • Ordering of parts and supplies from various suppliers.
  • Comparing parts cost and leveraging suppliers to receive the best cost.
  • Receiving of parts in Maintenance Connections.
  • Conduct daily inventory of parts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Shipping of various packages.
  • Receiving of parcels and equipment.
  • Research resources for parts supply.
  • Respond to emergency orders.
  • Issue part orders from stock and assign to proper work order.
  • Maintains and stores parts in stockroom.
  • Maintains sufficient supplies to ensure availability.
  • Create new parts in inventory system.
  • Create purchase orders (PO’s) as requested to fulfill needs.
  • Receive inbound shipments.
  • Put inventory in assigned locations.
  • Reorder parts as needed based on recommended levels.
  • Maintain inventory in system.
  • Research and find parts as needed.
  • Assign parts to work orders.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required
  • Discusses use and features of various parts amongst plant personnel.
  • Provides advice on substitution or modification of parts when replacement is not available.
  • Participate in departmental GMP zone audits.
  • Participate, as required by the department manager, in Plant Quality System implementation and subsequent audits.
  • Apply criteria and run reports.
  • Research parts and transaction history.
  • Manage emergency orders and find alternative sources when needed.
  • Competency and attainment determined by job performance.
  • Strong ability to work unsupervised.
  • Assist with training Parts Clerks.
  • Apply criteria to reports and use this information to analyze and adjust Min / Max and other part data points.
  • Manage any parts room issues when Supervisor is busy or on vacation.
  • Direct Parts Clerks activities to achieve department Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Gather information and report out based on KPI requirements.
  • Operate the parts data system.

  • Capable of using various systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Maintenance connections.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work product.
  • Must be proficient in math.
  • Must be proactive.
  • Must have a cooperative attitude.
  • Must have the ability to follow-up.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) required
  • 3 months Stockroom experience required
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
