Job Description: Systems Engineer I

The Systems Engineer I works to implement technical solutions to meet the growing demands for information technology from Brightline customers. Responsibilities include gathering requirements from the customers or internal teams and assisting with the configuration of hardware, software, and managed services to meet those requirements, and implementing the solution. This position will collaborate with the engineering team to resolve pain points for customers and monitor managed platforms to stay ahead of potential issues.

 Position Objectives:

• Maintain Brightline’s product portfolio to stay ahead of technology trends and meet the demands of our customers
• Implement solutions to meet technical challenges across many different industries
• Mature Brightline’s managed services, cloud offerings, and partnerships
• Provide seamless and professional customer experiences from implementation to on-going support

Duties:

• Perform customer site assessments to gather system requirements
• Assist Brightline’s engineers with the configuration and installation of hardware, software, cloud services, and managed services to meet customer specifications
• Assist Brightline’s customers with complex network issues and ensure that technical processes are maintained to provide consistent customer experiences
• Maintain Brightline’s managed product platforms
• Possess career competitive knowledge including solution, technology, and product offerings
• Stay current on new technology and assist in the development of managed services and cloud offerings
• Perform technical support duties and installations at customer sites throughout the Metro Detroit area

 Qualifications:

• Experience administrating Windows server environments and Active Directory
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, physical/virtual networking, virtualization, and cloud offerings (such as Microsoft 365)
• Team player with excellent communication skills and the proven ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and vendors
