Life University is looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to serve as a Radiological Technician in the clinic. The Radiological Technologist (RT) is responsible for providing excellent patient care and customer service to all constituents, and quality education of the chiropractic student. The RT supports the mission and vision of Life University, the College of Chiropractic and the Life University Clinic System.

The required hours for this position are 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM Monday – Friday. The position also requires every third Saturday (with a day off).

Responsibilities

  • Exhibiting a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Assists student and/or prepares patient for diagnostic imaging procedures including explanations, positioning, and follow up instructions.
  • Prepares room and equipment, and organizes materials as needed for patients.
  • Assists student with and follows prescribed techniques in administering x-rays, determining proper settings, exposure time, immobilization, shielding, and appropriate film size.
  • Observes students as they perform x-ray procedures and approves all images for radiologist to read.
  • Ensures high quality X-rays in accordance with Life University resources and A.R.R.T/A.C.R.R.T Certifications.
  • Performs X-rays in accordance with Life University, state and local patient safety measures involving ALARA.
  • Performs routine and specific office duties in accordance with Department, Clinic, and University procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use current computer software programs.
  • Assist with clinic or classroom, faculty and staff training as needed or requested.
  • Duplicates x-rays as needed.
  • Provides information as requested for reports and suggests procedural improvements as indicated.
  • Able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety and privacy procedures in accordance with Clinic, University, county, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and department quality control.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or the American Chiropractic Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or has equivalent certification) or is a graduate Doctor of Chiropractic from an accredited program.
  • Must have availability for shifts schedule:
    • The required hours for this position are 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM Monday – Friday. The position also requires every third Saturday (with a day off).
