Dump Truck Dispatcher

Girard Resources & Recycling, LLC is currently taking applications for a Full-Time position as our Dispatcher. The primary function is to perform Dispatch job duties at our Snohomish Yard that will include, but not be limited to the following:

Job Duties

- Oversee the dispatching of trucks in our entire fleet- both Snohomish and Covington bases

- Looking over and correcting the driver paperwork daily

- Strong knowledge of trucking DOT regulations and laws

- Understanding of how trucking and logistics work

- Working with the sales team to find work for the trucks

- Communicating with maintenance shop personnel and serve as an emergency point of contact to drivers when truck issues arise

- Schedule/Approve driver days off to coincide with current workload

- Maintaining contact with drivers throughout the day

- Monitoring driver’s times/routes via Samsara tracking system

- Making sure trucks are being efficient throughout the day

- Making sure drivers are following company safety policy

- Assist with facilitating the content and attending Drivers Safety meetings

- Filling out driver accidents forms

- Making sure all Girard locations are stocked full of material

- Complete transactions through our POS System

- Answer phones

- Schedule homeowner deliveries

- Communicating with all our retail locations, customers, contractors, and jobsites to ensure their needs are met at a satisfactory level

- Cover the front counter as needed

- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as necessary

Required Knowledge and Abilities

- Ability to operate computers with basic knowledge of Microsoft products and email

- Ability to work independently when given direction

- Ability to maintain a positive customer service relationship with public and commercial vehicle drivers

- General knowledge of commodities exported and imported at yard

- Ability to multi-task

- Ability to communicate properly and effectively with coworkers, customers, drivers, and contractors

- Must maintain a neat and clean personal appearance

- Must be proficient in business math and use of a calculator

- Ability to write clearly

- High school diploma or equivalent
