Job Description

HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice

Location: Grand Prairie, TX

Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

Pay rate: $22/hour DOE

Duration: Direct Hire

An HVAC maintenance and mechanical company in the DFW is looking for the best and brightest in the market to join their team. The Sheet Metal Apprentice will fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers and air-moving equipment.

As A Member of This team:

Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal
Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers and hand tools to assemble ductwork and other sheet metal assemblies
Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies on the worksite according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools
Install air-moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters
Inspect and test installations for conformance with the project requirements

You Will Need:

Prior experience with sheet metal work in the mechanical/HVAC industry
Understand basic math
Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines
Have one year of sheet metal experience in the commercial industry
Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints
Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
Perform a variety of duties which may change often; and rate information using measurable standards
