Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in the hospital's diagnostic imaging department, using specialized equipment to capture internal images of patients for use in diagnosing and treating diseases. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care, technical expertise, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform radiologic examinations (X-ray, CT scan, MRI, etc.) according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
Position patients and operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety regulations and minimizing radiation exposure.
Educate patients about the imaging procedures and answer their questions in a reassuring manner.
Maintain sterile and sanitary examination rooms.
Document patient care and imaging procedures in the electronic medical record.
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
May administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or a specific modality (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting (preferred).
Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina to lift and position patients.

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
