Fire Extinguisher Technician

Previous industry experience required. Candidate will need to maintain a State of Illinois Fire Equipment License. Within initial probationary period, candidate must possess strong working knowledge of applicable national, manufacturer and local fire protection codes.

General Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Perform fire extinguisher and emergency exit lighting inspections, testing, repairs and installations.
• Manage inventory of truck stock, parts and new equipment.
• Emphasize quality of work and strive for perfection in all of your assigned duties.
• Follow and keep a highly structured schedule and complete all assigned services and inspections on time.
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic documentation of tests performed.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection reports and documents.
• Identify and report deficiencies found during inspections, input service repair documents, complete service acknowledgments, safety documentation.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with company staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Promote all services of Allegiant while interacting with customers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical and system manuals.
• Extensive knowledge of customer service and sales skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Related fire protection required.
• Ideal candidate has exemplary written and verbal communication skills, is detailed, organized and professional. This position requires strong conflict resolution and customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to a height of 3-4 feet.
• Regularly ascend/descend ladders up to 16 feet.
• Ability to operate a scissor lift in a safe and effective manner.
