Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, prevention, counseling, behavioral intervention and coordinated services to students experiencing social, emotional, and academic problems.
Duties/Responsibilities:

- Assist students and staff in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems.
- Serve as a resource for student behavior management strategies and welfare and attendance concerns.
- Support students in developing decision-making skills, awareness of self-concept, learning style, interpersonal skills and personal responsibility.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis counseling and peer-focused conflict resolution.
- Facilitate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) content and Psychoeducational topics in individual and group formats.
- Communicate with staff, students, and parents regarding prevention-based resources and referral options.
- Assess students for risk to self, others, or for suicidality and make referrals as appropriate.
- Meet, confer, and counsel with parents, school personnel, and members of various youth serving agencies to develop alternative solutions to student educational, social, and emotional problems and concerns.
- Serve as a referral resource to social service agencies and community resources. Coordinate care with outside agencies.
- Adhere to the military structure of the program.
- Valid Oregon TSPC School Counselor or Social Worker license OR QMHP Certification OR the ability to obtain an Oregon TSPC Restricted School Counselor or Social Worker license.
- Two years of experience working in mental health preferred.
- Experience working with middle school and high school age students strongly preferred.
