Electrical Test Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Testing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical tests and inspections on a wide range of electrical equipment and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Candidate must be willing to test for NETA certification if not already certified. 

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct electrical tests and inspections on equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, motors, generators, and distribution panels.
2. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities on electrical systems to identify and rectify issues.
3. Interpret test results and provide recommendations for corrective actions to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
4. Prepare detailed test reports documenting findings, test procedures, and recommendations.
5. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop testing strategies and procedures.
6. Maintain accurate records of test equipment calibration and perform calibration as needed.
7. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
8. Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and best practices related to electrical testing and maintenance.

Qualifications:

1. Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working as an Electrical Testing Technician or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical testing techniques, procedures, and equipment.
4. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as NEC, NETA, and IEEE.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
7. Proficiency in using testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, power quality analyzers, and circuit analyzers.
8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
