Project Manager / Structured Cabling Designer

The Project Manager / Structured Cabling Engineer will be responsible for overseeing structured cabling projects from inception to completion. This role requires a blend of project management skills and technical expertise in structured cabling systems.

Project Management:

• Lead and manage structured cabling projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against milestones.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding structured cabling projects.
• Manage client expectations and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

Structured Cabling Engineering:

• Understand client requirements and objectives and translate them into actionable project plans.
• Design and develop structured cabling packages in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Produce detailed design documents, including space requirements, system architecture, and construction drawings.
• Collaborate with internal technology staff and vendors to integrate structured cabling systems with other building technologies.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to structured cabling systems.
• Ensure that all structured cabling installations meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Project management certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and structured cabling engineering.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, industry standards (e.g., BICSI, NEC, EIA/TIA), and building codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
