Job Description

TRP Construction Group, LLC with locations in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida, is a rapidly growing pavement marking company. TRP is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for our operation located in Hiram, Georgia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on off road heavy equipment engines and components daily for issues that are present•
  • Proper use of diagnostic equipment
  • Determine extent of necessary repairs including identifying major powertrain overhaul needs and prepare orders for required services
  • Perform maintenance including oil changes, belts, A/C repair, brakes, wheel seals, equalizers, wiring, as well as much more in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures
  • Preventatively maintaining equipment with lubrication as well as basic repairs
  • Diagnosing and repairing with computer diagnostic software
  • Oil changing and inspecting equipment properly
  • Reporting major issues to supervisor immediately
  • Complete all work orders (including warranty information) in a legible, accurate, and timely manner
  • Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
  • Maintain service vehicle daily inspections
  • Maintain service records
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Perform and complete all work in compliance with DOT and quality guidelines while maximizing production.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper safety equipment and uniform required for each job.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or heavy equipment background is required.
  • Experience with diesel and gas engines as well as drive trains is preferred.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and major repairs on hydraulic, electrical, ignition, pneumatic systems is preferred.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, asphalt paving, or a related field, is a plus.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks for criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, a CDL license is plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanics.
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology, including smartphones and applications.
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule.

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds to 100 pounds.

· Occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds.

· Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles.

· Noise level of the work environment is moderate to loud.

Availability:

· Monday – Friday.

· Must be able to work some nights and weekends.

· Must be able to work overtime.

-Occasional long, irregular hours

· Must be able to travel when necessary.
