Welder/Fabricator
Pay
Starting between $24 and $27, DOE. Advancement opportunities are available
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow blueprints, sample pieces, or pictures to fabricate parts using metal forming equipment: bandsaw, shear, punch, drill press, etc.
- Accurately assemble, weld, or bolt parts together
- Repair/refurbish old equipment.
- Prepare items for shipping
- Prep and paint finished product
- Prep items for shipping
- Load/unload trucks if designated
- Produce timely and detailed labor reports
- Effectively manage time and resources to meet deadlines and ensure quality
- Maintain an organized account of parts and materials used
- Assist other production teams as needed
- Consistently arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance
- Work both independently and collaboratively
- Must practice personal and environmental safety on the job using protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, etc.
Requirements:
- Experienced at MIG welding steel, all thicknesses and positions including overhead.
- Proper use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment: welder, plasma cutter, Oxy/Acetylene torch, bandsaw, ironworker, drill press.
- Knowledge of machinery and how things work
- Be able to perform physical work including: repetitive motions; standing, kneeling, bending over for long periods; the ability to lift at least 50-70 pounds
- Drive a forklift and use lifting devices
- Interact professionally and work well with the team and customers
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and have valid identification
