Facilities Technician

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

• Regular daily travel to dealership locations to respond to requests, troubleshoot issues, and complete system repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to all service requests from all locations in a timely manner.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard, operative, and safe.
• Troubleshoot general facility maintenance problems and determine technical solutions.
• Manage heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Maintain inventory for equipment and maintenance supplies.
• Partner with contractors and vendors regarding work projects that cannot be completed in-house.
• Respond to emergency calls after-hours and during weekends as needed on a rotating schedule.
• Abide by all OSHA rules and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record to operate a Company vehicle.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two – three (2-3) years’ experience in facilities or trades preferred.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, competently use a ladder and basic tools safely and efficiently.
• Ability to operate light equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and back hoes.
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Familiarity with fire and safety equipment and procedures.
• Able to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
• Ability to drive to and from various Checkered Flag locations.

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Certification in HVAC, electrical or plumbing preferred not required.

• Knowledge of automotive industry a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use of eyes for close vision, use hands, fingers, grasp, handle, reach, listen, and talk. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance. The employee is required to wear eye protection when walking through the service departments.

Normal working schedule: 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional scheduled weekends. This position requires responding to emergency calls after-hours and during weekends.
